European University Cyprus wins University Handball Championship
European University Cyprus retained its title at the Men’s University Handball Championships, after winning the second match as well against the University of Cyprus by 39-25.
The game constituted a derby only for a half-time, during which the University of Cyprus players gave their all to achieve the coveted victory but were faced with the very strong and mature team of European University Cyprus who realised their goal, leading the important first half by 16-12.
After that, it was up to the experience and class of the European University Cyprus players, who played exceptionally well, proving why they are at the top all these years. The team achieved their goal that was nothing less than a great and important victory which led to yet another University Championship title in what has become a truly “own” sport of theirs in recent years.
