Gender Equality Plan

Following the adoption of the initial EUC Gender Equality Plan (GEP) in 2021, the 113th Senate has approved the second version (GEP II) on 10.12.2025, demonstrating the University’s commitment to further advancing gender equality across a number of areas. Research and innovation (R&I), being one of the University’s strategic priorities, can significantly benefit from actions aiming to promote, enhance, and ultimately achieve gender equality within the University. GEP II was developed by the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on Gender Equality (CGE), which leads the efforts on gender equality within the University, in collaboration with academic and administrative decision-makers.

EUC-GEP II details the University’s Gender Equality goals for the period January 2025 – December 2029 and focuses on the following five (5) interrelated thematic areas: (a) Work-life balance and organisational culture, (b) Gender balance in leadership and decision-making, (c) Gender equality in recruitment and career progression, (d) Integration of the gender dimension into research and teaching content, and (e) Measures against gender-based violence including sexual harassment. For each of the five thematic areas, the Plan includes a brief description and aim, an assessment of the current situation through quantitative and qualitative baseline data, and the course of action with objectives, actions, indicators and responsible departments for implementation.

The full EUC-GEP II is available on the University’s Intranet area “Rectorate Office: Internal Regulations”. A copy can also be requested by sending an email to the EUC Research Office at [email protected]. You may download the EUC Gender Equality Plan – Executive Summary.
