European University Cyprus Publication featured on cover of Anatomical Sciences Education journal

During the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the School of Medicine was faced with unique challenges in order to maintain the high standards of its medical education program. The School made some extremely difficult decisions and responded with agility to the rapidly changing educational landscape. EUC medical school faculty used the challenges faced with the pandemic as an opportunity to use technology to enhance learning experience, develop novel teaching resources, engage students and support learning. In their publication “Shift to emergency remote preclinical medical education amidst the COVID-19 pandemic: A single-institution study”, I. Nikas, D. Lamnisos, M. Meletiou-Mavrotheris, S. Themistocleous, C. Pieridi, D. Mytiolinaios, C. Michaelides, and E.O. Johnson report on the virtual learning experience of students in Histology and Pathology. Because of its’ interdisciplinary approach and impact on medical education, the article was featured on the cover of the journal Anatomical Sciences Education, one of the highest ranked journals in Medical Education and Anatomy.
