Law at EUC
The PhD in Law is the highest degree offered by the School of Law at EUC. The PhD degree is addressed to candidates with advanced research interests in the science of law who are capable of conducting research in the field of legal science including a completion of a dissertation setting out and analyzing their research results. PhD students will have the opportunity to conduct research in the dynamic and continuously developing research team of the School of Law of EUC, under the supervision of faculty members. At the same time, they will have to take research methodology modules and attend seminars on advanced legal issues in the context of which they will have to produce relevant coursework, which they will have the opportunity to present in seminars or conferences within and outside the university.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR DOCTORAL STUDIES European University Cyprus announces every academic year a limited number of places for doctoral studies in both Fall and Spring Semester (commencing  October and February, respectively). Applications are submitted using the application form.  All necessary supporting material accompanying the application are described in the application form. Last day for submitting applications:
  • For Fall Semester: Initial deadline: 2 May (if positions remain available, additional applications for these positions are accepted by the 15th of September per year)
  • For Spring Semester: 15 January per year.
The final selection is based on assessment of the applicant’s qualifications and personal interview(s).  
Call for Submission of Application for Doctoral Studies
The School of Law of the European University Cyprus announces a limited number of places for doctoral studies every year in one or a combination of the following areas:
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law (mainly in the areas of privacy protection and personal data protection, intellectual property, labour law, human rights)
  • Labour Law
  • Public Law (all sectors)
  • European Law
  • Criminal Law – Criminal Procedure
Application, supporting material and admission procedure:
  1. The program is offered in Greek
  2. Interested applicants are expected to submit a research proposal with their application.
  3. The application is submitted using the application form
