A research-focused master’s degree that prepares professionals to be change agents in the field of child and youth mental health
The MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at EUC is aimed at professionals working or wishing to work with children, adolescents and their families/guardians. This degree offers a deepening of knowledge in basic areas of child and adolescent mental health with multiple applications within the students’ field of experience and/or interest.
The degree program provides students with in-depth knowledge of policy trends and innovative practices in the mental health field as it relates to children, youth and their families. With a strong focus on early intervention as a preventative measure, the program’s core courses develop skills, knowledge and awareness of child and adolescent psychological development. Emphasis is placed on research methods, design and evaluation related to child and adolescent behavioral and developmental health. Under the supervision of department faculty, students participate in specialized research that furthers their knowledge in their chosen field. Graduates are able to contribute to strategies that promote inclusion and protection of children and emerging adults in a variety of agencies or to pursue doctoral studies in related fields.
