Orthodontics at EUC

The MSc in Orthodontics is a three-year graduate program providing coursework and clinical training to enable dentists to become orthodontic specialists. The program fulfils the requirements of the European Commission Directives regarding the education of orthodontists, the UK Specialist Advisory Committee on Orthodontics and the World Federation of Orthodontists guidelines for postgraduate orthodontic education.  The program also includes all of the features of the European Erasmus training curriculum.

Students acquire the appropriate knowledge, attitudes and skills of an orthodontic specialist as well as a sense of professionalism, interest and enquiry. The program aims to prepare dentists to practice the specialty using contemporary techniques at an advanced level, through a comprehensive academic program as well as through rigorous clinical experience in different treatment modalities.

Our Office of Admissions is now accepting applications for Fall Semester 2024.

Admission Criteria

The program will begin accepting students for the 2024 Fall Semester; the application deadline is 29 March 2024.   Due to the limited number of positions, admission is on a competitive basis.

Applications must include the following:

  1. Copy of Dentistry degree earned (BDS, DDS, DMD or equivalent)
  2. Transcript of Dental studies (in English)
  3. Detailed curriculum vitae (CV)
  4. Personal Statement expressing interest, motivation and preparation for degree
  5. Two (2) letters of recommendation from Dental School Dean, Chairperson, faculty and/or professional colleague
  6. Proof of English language proficiency (see below) *

In addition to the above minimum admissions criteria, the following will be considered:

  1. Personal interview
  2. Dentistry degree GPA
  3. Candidate’s interest/performance in Orthodontics during first degree
  4. Candidate’s previous experience/qualifications/professional development in Dentistry
  5. Research papers, scientific publications and/or presentations.

Greek Language Requirements: Although knowledge of the Greek language is not mandatory, a basic level of the language will facilitate communication with patients. It will, therefore, will be considered as an additional qualification for non-Greek speaking applicants.

*English Language Proficiency (applicants must have one of the following::

  1. Proof that undergraduate instruction and coursework has been done in English
  2. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based total) or 213 (Computer based total).
  3. IELTS with a score of 6.5 or English IGCSE (GCE) O’ Level with grade of “C” or above
