Summer Science Academy 2026 in Nicosia – European University Cyprus

For the fourth consecutive year, the Centre of Excellence for Research & Innovation in Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (SOSCIEATH) at European University Cyprus announces the opening of registrations for the Summer Science Academy 2026, a free summer programme for high school students aged 16+. 

The Academy will take place 29 June – 3 July 2026 at the European University Cyprus campus, daily from 09:00 to 13:30. 

Free summer program for high school students 

The Summer Science Academy 2026 is designed to offer students hands-on exposure to a wide range of scientific and academic fields, helping them explore their interests and make more informed decisions about their future studies. Fields of study include:

  • Biological and Biomedical Sciences  
  • Business and Entrepreneurship  
  • Computer Engineering  
  • Cybersecurity  
  • Dentistry  
  • Drone Science  
  • Law  
  • Literature

  • Nutrition  
  • Occupational Therapy  
  • Pharmacy

Hands-on learning in real university laboratories 

The program will be conducted in Greek and will focus on experiential learning within real university lab environments. The students will engage in: 

  • hands-on laboratory workshops 
  • interactive activities  
  • selected lectures and discussions  
  • guided campus and lab tours  

All activities take place in the specialized labs of European University Cyprus. 

What students will experience 

The students will have the opportunity to: 

  • observe cancer cell metastasis through microscopy  
  • analyze the human immune system using diagnostic techniques  
  • assemble computer systems and explore networks  
  • apply hacking and anti-hacking cybersecurity techniques  
  • explore artificial intelligence tools and applications  
  • create pharmaceutical compounds  
  • program robots and drone swarms  
  • study X-rays and ultrasound imaging  
  • practice basic dental procedures  
  • develop their own business ideas  

Career guidance & psychometric assessment 

A key objective of the Academy is to support students in making well-informed academic and career choices. Participants will also gain free access to the Ariadne” Psychometric Tool, designed to help them better understand: 

  • their skills and interests  
  • suitable fields of study  
  • career pathways and labour market trends

  • Daily snacks provided  

Registrations open on 30 April 2026 and will remain open until all places are filled. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
