COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY

The European University Cyprus Council is the supreme governing body of the University. The Council is responsible for the management and administration of the University’s financial resources and property, while exercising general control over the conduct of the affairs of the University.

COMPOSITION OF THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL:

Dr. Christoforos Hadjikyprianou – President (European University Cyprus)

The President is appointed by the Board of Directors and:
  • Chairs and convenes the Council,
  • Safeguards the implementation of the Charter
  • Has the legal representation of the EUC
  • Assures the implementation of the Council`s decisions.

SENATE

The European University Cyprus is the supreme academic authority of the University and, subject to the powers of Council, is responsible for the academic work of the University, both in teaching and research, and for the regulation and superintendence of the education discipline of the students of the University.

 
THE CURRENT SENATE COMPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:

The elected Rector is the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of the University and:

  • Chairs and convenes the Senate,
  • Safeguards the implementation of the educational policy, the decisions of the Senate and internal regulations,
  • Provides leadership and supervision of all educational programs and oversees Vice Rectors, The Deans of Schools and Directors of educational units.
  • Oversees the quality of the educational, research and service-to-the-Community functions

The Rector delegates the elected Vice Rectors` functions, duties and responsibilities.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee oversees the administration of the University’s operations, ensuring the effective management of its administrative services. It is responsible for executing Council decisions and provides recommendations to the Council on policy initiatives and other administrative matters. Additionally, the Committee coordinates the University’s planning and budgeting processes while monitoring its operational and financial performance to support strategic objectives.

RECTORATE COMMITTEE

The Rectorate Committee has operational roles pertinent to daily or current academic matters; considers and make recommendations to the Senate on Academic initiatives; executes Senate’s decisions; monitors academic quality and implementation of the educational policies and addresses any other issue or function that the senate delegates to it.
