Six EUC PhD students attend Berlin Symposium

Six PhD students from European University Cyprus participated at the 1st PhD symposium that was held at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Berlin on 24-25 October.

Accompanied by the university’s Rector Kostas Gouliamos who co-chaired the Practice Based Research Symposium this unique two-day gathering allowed for substantive exchanges of views and the sharing of experiences between doctoral students, professors and rectors from across Europe.

The European University Cyprus’ PhD candidates, Ilona Lasica, Nada Saied, Emma Galifyan, Theodosis Theodosiou, Costas Christodoulides and George Antoniades, participated as a team and were able to present their experiences as well as gain a unique learning experience absorbing epistemological building interdisciplinary perspectives and opportunities to become critically-active researchers. Macromedia University is the biggest private German University for Media Studies.

The Berlin Symposium adopted Rector Gouliamos’ proposal to hold the 2nd PhD Symposium at European University Cyprus next year.
