Webinar on Start-ups and Technological trends in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at European University Cyprus

European University Cyprus and EUC-PEAK Innovation Center in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cyprus is organising an interactive one- hour webinar on Start-ups and Imminent Technological Changes in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, technological war and splinternet, to be broadcast live on Monday 26 October 2020 at 4:30 p.m, Cyprus time.

The two guest speakers of the webinar, Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska – Vice-Rector of Kozminski University and Natalia Hatalska – the CEO and the founder of infuture institute – come from Poland and are exceptionally known in their field of business and research.

Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska – Vice-Rector of Kozminski University. She habilitated in management at Leon Kozminski Academy, and received her PhD in the field of philosophy of artificial intelligence at the Department of Cultural Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw. She is currently Associate Professor at the Chair of Management in Digital and Networked Societies at Leon Kozminski Academy. Until recently, she conducted research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. She graduated from The New School for Social Research in New York. In Autumn 2020, she will start research at AIER on work automation, and then at the Harvard Labour and Worklife Program. She is interested in the development of new technologies, natural language processing, humanoid artificial intelligence, social robots and wearable technologies.

Natalia Hatalska – the CEO and the founder of infuture.institute – a forecasting institute. Financial Times placed her on the New Europe 100 list. She has been recognized as one of the 50 most influential women in Poland and was awarded in the “Who listens to Polish business?” ranking as one of the top 10 authorities of Polish business.

She is one of the most influential and recognized experts in the field of analysis, forecasting and research of trends in relations between the market, brand, technology, and consumer.

She is an analyst, trendwatcher, and the authoress of numerous research projects, appreciated, among others, by the Audience Award of the Congress of Researchers of the Polish Society of Opinion and Market Researchers. She was awarded by Geek Girls Carrots for being a model female dealing with new technologies and has been granted the title of Digital Shaper for her contribution to the development of digital economy in Poland.

Dr. Simona Mihai Yiannaki has initiated the EUC-PEAK Innovation Center, being the Director since 2018. She is a Deputy Dean of the School of Business Administration and Associate Professor in Finance at European University Cyprus.

Dr. Mihai has been active in Erasmus+ Life learning- funded research projects, coordinating projects related to developing entrepreneurial skills for digitalization, arts, science, ICT, and green economy. Dr. Mihai was a Fulbright finalist, has been an evaluator for World Bank HEIR projects, for the Israel Ministry of Science, Technology and Space, and for the Executive Government Agency of the National Science Centre Poland. Dr. Mihai has been active in upgrading and innovating teaching at the university. Her academic research areas are Banking and Financial Services Innovation, Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Risk Management applications for banks and SMEs, Creativity and Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Distance Learning in higher education.
