There are currently no reported COVID-19 cases in Cyprus. None the less EUC is taking some precautionary measures to ensure the University’s community health and wellbeing:

  1. All international travel relating to official University business, academic conferences or seminars as well as ERASMUS exchange is suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
  2. All planned events on-campus are suspended until further notice.
  3. Students, faculty and staff should follow closely the guidelines announced by the Ministry of Health related to COVID-19  https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/

In addition to the above actions, the EUC is implementing a number of measures relating to the hygiene of the facilities and common areas and we encourage you all to observe signs and announcements posted around campus.

The top priority of the above measures is the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff, but also to comply with international health guidelines.

Fear and anxiety can lead to social stigma and discrimination when people associate an infectious disease, such as COVID-19, with a population or nationality, even though not everyone in that population or from that region is specifically at risk for the disease. Stigma hurts everyone by creating fear or anger towards ordinary people instead of the disease that is causing the problem. We can fight stigma and help not hurt others by providing social support.
