It’s always nice to be at a university that is going out many extra miles to create a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the students to feel at home! This is one of EUC’s greatest achievements, a commitment, and the main priority, we want to consistently improve the environment our students live in. Either at our UniHallls Trinity or at our high-quality housing options, we think that at our facilities, you will find everything that meets your ‘I need’ list. Did you get a chance to check them out? Have a look, here: https://goo.gl/a2A32h

But it’s not just on us. Sharing the same space with other students, from different countries and cultures creates the same kind of community that we want to have in our classroom. That’s why we always advise our students to have this in mind: ‘Respecting each other’s space is respecting each other’. So be the roommate you’d like to have by having these in mind.

Have a conversation with your roommates about sharing chores around the house. Cooperation is a key when you share your personal space with someone.
If it’s party time then make sure that’s not intervening with somebody else’s study time.
You don’t need a roommate agreement, don’t go that far(Unless you admire Sheldon from Big Bang Theory). But shared spaces like the living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom should be kept clean, for everyone to enjoy. Make sure there’s hot water left for the next person in, refill the toilet paper when it’s out, takes out the trash and by all means, don’t smoke inside.
Be nice to one another! Be supportive, help and understand each other. It’s ok if your personalities don’t match, as long as you treat each other with decency.
Show your culture by cooking something for everyone. Everything, not just love, starts from the stomach! Go a step forward and plan ‘Family dinners’! They are the closest to a family you have there, anyway!
Safety first! Make sure you know where’s the first aid kit and set up safety rules that everyone should follow!

There are apps out there that can help you all stay on the same page. ‘Ourgroceries’ can help you create a shared shopping list, ‘chore buster’ sends actual reminders of all the things you need to do and ‘Splitwise’ can make splitting the money, a non-issue!

It will feel like ‘living with strangers’ at first. But follow these steps and it will feel like ‘living with family’!
