Concentration in Community Nursing
The Community Nursing concentration trains students to provide primary healthcare and nursing in a community setting. Students are trained to design and implement programs to provide health services, preventive care, health education, intervention, rehabilitation and chronic disease management outside of the hospital setting. Students have the opportunity design and implement research that relies on data and analysis to assess community needs and create action plans in clinical practice.
Concentration in Mental Health Nursing
The Mental Health Nursing concentration provides students with specialized knowledge and skills needed in providing nursing care to people with a range of mental health issues. Students develop competence in the communication, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with mental illness using evidence-based practice. Through both clinical and laboratory training, students connect theory to practice as they develop necessary interpersonal and management skills. Graduates of the program are placed on the Mental Health Nurses Register, ensuring their preparation for employment in the field and further specialization.
Concentration in Emergency and Intensive Care Nursing
The program has been carefully designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to meet the modern challenges of the nursing profession. Though simulation experiences in state-of-the-art laboratories, students learn to deal with complex scenarios of patients facing serious and life-threatening conditions, cultivating the ability to respond to real clinical challenges. Students deepen and develop clinical skills in Emergency and Intensive Care nursing through practical training and early clinical exposure.
