Online Forum on the Digital Age by European University Cyprus and Minjiang University
An online forum titled “The Digital Transformation: Connecting Best Practices of Minjiang University & European University Cyprus” was held on 3 March 2022 with great success. The Forum was co-organized by European University Cyprus and Minjiang University of China.
The Forum featured a welcome address by the Vice Rector for Research and External Affairs at European University Cyprus, Professor Marios Vryonidis, and the Vice President of the University of Minjiang, Professor FU Gaosheng. Speeches were also delivered by the Ambassador of China to Cyprus Mr. LIU Yantao, the Rector of European University Cyprus, Professor Andreas Efstathiou, and the President of the University of Minjiang, Professor WANG Zonghua.
The first part of the Forum included a keynote speech by the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of Cyprus, Mr. Kyriakos Kokkinos, titled “Towards a quick and efficient digital transition with education at its core”, and the Deputy Director of the E-Commerce Committee in Higher Education of the Chinese Ministry of Education, Professor CHEN Jin, on: “Development of Digital Economy in China”.
This was followed by lectures by professors from the two universities on Digital Economics, “International College on Digital Economy”, which already has more than 200 students from China.
The Forum concluded with a speech by the former Rector of European University Cyprus, Professor Kostas Gouliamos, who underlined that the educational and research cooperation between the two universities has added value not only for the students but also for the societies of the two countries in today’s digital age
